The retainer model is nothing new. Attorneys are on retainer. Marketing creatives operate on retainer. You pay an annual or monthly membership fee to have access to everything from country clubs to bulk retailers. We simply take that model and apply it to cabinets. For a monthly fee* you can buy cabinets and have them delivered and installed at our cost. That’s right, we hand you the actual invoice. It might sound crazy, but we can prove that not only does it work, it saves home builders money.
How It Works
As a cabinet company, we have relationships with suppliers to our industry that will not sell direct to builders. The last thing our suppliers want to do is “cannibalize” their current customer base. Sure, our suppliers love to grow their customer base and anyone can get access to them. All you have to do is open up your own cabinet shop. You can get business permits, buy the design software, rent or buy a warehouse, go through the interview process to hire a design team, develop relationships with cabinet manufacturers and custom cabinet shops in your area, remember to find a good hardware vendor, bring on a reliable team of installers, and then deal with any and all warranty items that come up after the sale. You could do all that and have access to the same people your current cabinet vendor uses or you could have direct access to them by hiring one company to manage all of the aspects of YOUR cabinet business.
